6 entrepreneurs band together to donate items to Israel’s fire victims
Media Release | 5 Dec 2016
In an effort to support victims of last week’s fires across the State of Israel, six Olim are donating ten of their products to families that have been affected.
The products they are donating include Judaica items such as a Laura Cowan Hanukkah menorah, a designer Ceremonie tea set, Reveal Cards, an exciting family card game, Jerusalem Soap Company’s artisan soaps, Etz Adin’s foot care kit and a designer makeup bag by Botanical Prints.
Thousands of people have been displaced from their homes after hundreds of houses have gone up in flames due to fires caused by either negligence or arson.
Contemporary Judaica designer and artist Laura Cowan, originally from Manchester, England, launched a collaborative effort with an additional five entrepreneurs. Each will donate ten products to create “We Care” packages for victims of the fires.
Miriam Lottner, raised in Orange County, California, a passionate female entrepreneur and veteran of Israeli tech decided to join this initiative saying “Watching so many families lose everything is just heartbreaking. I'm honored to be able to help bring a bit of joy back into the lives of these families by gifting them Reveal Israel and Reveal Chai. As the fires were burning, a friend in the US reminded me that Israel was once called a barren, desolate wasteland. We built it once, nurtured it, planted it and it is so clear to me that we as a nation will again. Gathering together as a group of moms to try to help bring a sense of normal back to these families is the least we can do.”
The “We Care” kits were designed to help victims feel cared for during these trying times and include a special gift for mothers.
“The women affected by these fires are so busy worrying about their children, their partners, and their homes. I am happy to be able to provide them with something that is just for them. And it means so much to me to be able to pamper them with something that I made!” says Allyson Marvin.
